Mauritius Lottery To Be Launched By GTech
GTECH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lottomatica which is one of the world’s biggest commercial lottery operators, has been selected as the exclusive technology provider for LottoTech Limited.
After stiff competition, LottoTech was chosen to implement and operate the national online and instant-ticket lottery for Mauritius for a period of ten years and will hold the license until April 2019.
Jaymin Patel, President and Chief Executive Officer for GTECH, the leading American gaming technology and services firm, has announced that they are thrilled to act as LottoTech’s exclusive technology provider for the execution of the Mauritius national lottery. He added that they would provide a top of the range lottery platform and solutions especially suitable for the Mauritian market and hoped to assist their clients in building a successful lottery for the people of Mauritius. He also hoped that the success of the lottery would provide sufficient funds to boost health, education, sports and culture for this Indian Ocean African island nation.
Approximately 600 Altura lottery terminals will be installed by GTECH and they hope to have over 1,000 points-of-sale in due course.
A lotto game will be launched soon after the system goes live in October. This will be followed by instant games shortly thereafter.
Carl Ah-Teck, Chairman for LottoTech announced that they had selected GTECH as its technology provider as they appreciated its leadership and success in the international lottery sector. He added that they were thrilled to offer Mauritians a first-class lottery operation.
